We used the satnav coordinates we had got, and drove on the motorway with our new vignette. As we intend to spend several days in Vienna, and make it an admin stop, we have found a campsite with washing machine etc.
We walked to the nearest U-bahn station and got a 48 hour ticket...

Today we thought we would look for LPG, and at a garage we were told, none in Graz, only on the Autobahns, but then we found some just as we got towards Melk.
The route we had planned from Graz to Melk appeared to be straightforward "A" roads, but one section was special dual carriageway...

Long drive day , hot, 30 plus centigrade, and our drive took us close to the Slovenian border. Some place names were in two languages. Took us a while to find the aire which was in the rear of a Fiat dealership and garage. They kindly checked our brakes which cost us 5E beer money....

First thing in the morning we walked down to the falls, and straight in at 9.30. There was a climb of 350 metres from 1090 to 1460 metres over a distance of approx 3 km (kill-o-metres) but wow, was it worth the climb.! Every superlative is not enough to do this justice - torrent after torrent...

Through Heiligenblut onto the Grossglockner Road. Merrily making our way uphill and round bends as we have been for ever, and were then surprised to see a toll gate. The toll was 32E, OUCH! but it was the same as a car so couldn´t really complain. Continued up the road through rain, but...

WOW !
It´s 1.6 km long, made 10,000 years ago, opened in 1905, and walls are up to 90m high. Amazing. And all for only 3.50 E. Words can´t decribe the sheer spectacle of this place. The further up you walk, the better it gets. Millions of gallons of water gushing through a narrow gorge....
