Mont Blanc

Drove up another so called A road, took us up yet another gorge, eventually arriving at Le Tour, just past Chamonix: a small ski town at the head of the valley - the road literally runs out. Parked in the village car park which was on something of a slope. After trying several different ways, we eventually got to an approximation of level, by using all the ramps. This must be a very busy resort in the winter: there are 5 ski lifts from here, and several hotels, etc: Nonetheless,  we only saw 3 people in the 24 hours we were there. There is, however, a very good bus service, about every half hour.

Cows in the next field down, with the hugest bells you have ever seen, dinging away merrily. Next morning they were right behind the motorhome. No chance of a lie in.

Weather for the last few days has been a bit changeable, with low cloud, which at times adds to the mystique of the mountains. Mont Blanc in particular seems to change by the minute.

Watch out for the next instalment: on our way to Switzerland.
